If you rent you must provide written proof that you have permission to have a pet. Our adoption process moves quickly, if your application is approved we require you to come to the next adoption event. Adoption events are held Tuesday and Thursday nights, Saturday or Sunday afternoons (depending on availability of our dedicated volunteers), once a week, in the Mishawaka, Indiana area. If you are not planning on adopting that soon, please wait to apply. We are dedicated to placing dogs in their forever homes in a timely manner; we do not hold dogs. We do not take deposits-it is a liability of ownership for us; there are no exceptions.

Please Note: these are dogs we are rescuing or rehoming. Some of them have never been pets or lived in a home. They can be shy. Most will need house training. If you are not willing to invest the time with a new pet, introducing it to new routines and circumstances-Please Do Not Apply With Us. We are looking for those who are dedicated to keeping a pet for their entire lives. We Do Not Ship Pets.



We will reply to your email sending you the password to log-in to the application page.



We will contact you within 24-48 hours if your application is initally approved. At this time you will be assigned a contact who will review your application with you and answer any questions you may have. 



If you are approved we would like you to come to the next adoption event. Adoption events are held once a week in the Mishawaka, Indiana area.  Plan for travel time, and for bringing your new pup home with you that day. You might want to bring an old towel, or blanket, for the car ride home. Please also bring a standard leash (Do not bring a retractable leash - those can be hard to control and there might be other dogs there).  At the adoption event you will get to meet the dog that you have been approved for. Adoption events are not open to the public, and the only dogs that will be in attendance are the ones matched with applicants.


At this time, paperwork will be given to fill out (microchip registration form, contract), one of our adoption coordinators will go over all of the vetting information we have on file and we also take a photo of the new happy family for our Facebook page that we hope you will go on and LIKE and keep for yourself. Please remember to have your adoption donation with you (which should be either cash, certified check or money order).


Please keep in mind - we do not have a brick and mortar building and hold our adoptions at a local pet-friendly establishment. Since we do not own the building, we cannot guarantee the use of all facilities so please plan accordingly (water, food, restroom needs, etc.).
